The Regional Leader is responsible for driving operational excellence across all material functions, including procurement, planning, and warehousing. This involves leading strategic planning to maintain and improve execution, providing training and guidance for site material leaders, and driving the development of site planning and inventory strategies. They will monitor team performance and metrics, incorporating the planning and inventory vision into all elements of the plan. A key aspect of this role is recognizing subject matter experts in planning and inventory processes, tools, and applications, as well as managing a team of direct and indirect resources to effectively support the execution of strategy deployment plans. This role also contributes to multi-functional, regional, or global assignments.
Key activities include:
* Providing coaching and support for various cross-functional teams and offering direction on demand/supply for customers, material agility initiatives, and overall material continuous improvement.
* Overseeing and mentoring a team of materials managers and staff, which includes providing training, setting performance goals, and ensuring adherence to standard processes.
* Driving supply chain improvement initiatives with sites to support customer needs.
* Preparing detailed reports on inventory levels, operational performance, and planning and purchasing execution for senior management.
* Stepping up in strategic planning, monitoring demand management, and providing guidance to detect opportunities and risks, as well as leading conversations with senior management to secure good planning alignment.
* Driving site engagement on demand planning, demand management, and collaboration while improving the process.
* Providing direction and support to site GAP inventory reviews.
* Tracking and driving inventory results by working with Material Managers and Plant Managers.
* Managing the purchasing process, ensuring data integrity, benchmarking best practices across sites, and monitoring performance.
* Supporting the development of delivery requirements, material plans, and short-range capacity plans to meet production schedules and inventory objectives.
* Providing support to the team on managing material availability to support build plans throughout the product life cycle for a specific business unit or customer set.
